The Nissan LEAF can be plugged into any standard 240V electrical socket. With a Type 2 charging unit installed, the LEAF can reach full charge in 7.5 hours, so you can charge overnight and start the day with a full 270km of range^.

On the Go

From regional highways to major shopping centres and office buildings, there are over 780 public charging stations across Australia. Many public charging stations offer CHAdeMO charging, a fast charging system that charges the LEAF’s battery from 20% to 80% in just 60 minutes.

Indicated rapid charging time requires use of a CHAdeMO rapid charger. How to get more range from every charge?

Speed, driving style, topography and weather conditions can affect battery performance. More speed uses more energy, so the faster you drive the more often you’ll have to charge. To maximise your range, try to keep your driving smooth and steady. Increase the time between charges with ECO Mode or B mode regenerative braking.

B Mode: Recover Braking Energy

Serious about maxing out your range? Activate B Mode. It delivers more regenerative braking, which charges the battery without compromising on driving power.

Eco Mode

Choose ECO Mode to limit engine output and save energy. It slightly increases regenerative braking to boost your range, too. To get the most mileage out of your Nissan LEAF, use B mode and ECO mode at the same time.

Accelerate, brake and stop—all with one pedal. With the LEAF’s e-Pedal, just press down for an instant rush, and ease off to slow down. It’s a whole new way to drive that’s not only fun, but efficient. It can even add power back into the battery to help extend its range. Of course, your brake pedal is always there if you prefer to use it, or simply flip a switch to remain on regular two-pedal driving.
